I've been hard at work on a new CD that should be coming out soon. It will have eleven original tracks, most of which have been part of my live shows for the past year. Keep checking back. It may be ready in time for Christmas!

Tune in your computer to allmemphismusic.com, internet radio dedicated to music of Memphis, from the classic Sun and Stax recordings to some of the local artists of today. They have uploaded 3 songs from "When You Smile", "Goin' Down to the River", "Don't Talk About That", and "I'll Fly Away". There is a place on their website to request a song. So get going and request one of those 3 as you listen away!

On 3/31/07, Rice Drewry will be one of 3 or 4 memphis songwriter association members to play a 30 minute set opening for renowned local artist, John Kilzer. John is an amazing songwriter and performer. Show starts at 7pm with John taking the stage at 9pm. $5 cover. Don't miss it!

Rice will be playing about an hour to 1 1/2 hour set at the March 2007 version of the Alley Cat Soiree at Memphis Original's (MO's) in Memphis, TN on Walker St just off of HIghland Ave. Will be unveiling at least one new tune, several other original songs as well as a cover or two. BYOB with $2 uncorking fee.

Rice and Friends will play for opening night gala for Madonna Circle at the Agricenter International in Cordaova, TN . It is open to the public with the purchase of a benefit ticket. It's great to be of service!

Had a great time getting together with Mr. Bryan Hayes and Shannon Cooke to play a songwriter round at KUDZU's for a Halloween bash get-together. Next year, Bryan and I will have to coordinate our costumes a little better since we both came as "Tom Petty".

Great fun was had by all at the Cockeyed Camel CD release event and Tumblin' Sneakers gig on April 8th. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported me and the other bandmembers. Stay tuned for future news.

CD Release April 8th at the Cockeyed Camel in Memphis 9pm backed by Jack Holder and an all star band. Followed by the Tumblin' Sneakers band playing popular covers mixed with a few favorite originals.

Interview on Memphis radio station, WQOX, FM88.5 today from 2 to 3pm. Co-hosts Bob Holden and Joe Pusateri graciously played cuts from the new CD, "When You Smile". Had a great time!

First batch of CDs delivered yesterday, 2/9/06. The link to CD baby from my website will be active in about 1 week, then you can purchase the CD online.

Just picked up the CD Master today! Mastered by Brad Blackwood of Euphonic Masters in Memphis, TN. Great job, Brad! Next, is duplication. Should have final product available by Valentines Day.

Pre-release party at MO's in Memphis. Small gathering of friends to celebrate completion of the recording project. Thanks to Wise Jones and Sam Carson, who graciously accompanied me at the gig.

The recording sessions for new release "When You Smile" wrapped up this week, awaiting final mixes, mastering, then duplication. Final product only 2-3 weeks away.

Joyce Petrina, an artist from Germantown, TN (outside of Memphis), and also my good friend, is letting me use a painting she calls the "Blue Haired Man" on the cover of my pending CD release. Of course, I was the subject of the painting. That's it on the Home page.
